On the eve of 3 September 1942, Brussels Jews were rounded up in the Marolles. Today, few remember that day and new inhabitants have settled in the area, bringing their own stories to the neighbourhood. In “L’Été 42, rafle dans les Marolles”, a sound documentary by Richard Kalisz, the last survivors of the round up recall this painful page of their lives. Julien Poidevin goes back to this “radio inquest” during a sound walk in the Marolles area. Testimonies are re injected in the public space, becoming traces that need to be reactivated in the sensitive memory of the district.
