Inspired by the works of Michel Foucault, Les disciplines du rectangle offers a reflection of the nature of standards in the digital age. When a participant stands in front of a stele, a monitor detects the body and draws a virtual rectangle around her/his body. The rectangle then starts moving, forcing the spectator to move to stay within the frame without touching its sides. Halfway between video game and contemporary dance, this piece questions the relation between rules (of a game) and coercion.
